....still celebrating Christmas

Merry Christmas! Here in the Beardsley home we are still celebrating. I've decided I'm going to post every once in a while as well to give you a peek into our everyday selves along side of the things that Ry is learning.
We had a wonderful Illinois-white-Christmas. Ry picked out a fabulous little tree for our home when Tony and Jen were here early December and all decorations are in there places. We have a cozy little fire and a beautiful winter wonderland outside our window(until you go out there and experience the fr-fr-frigged-ness). This year we were given a wonderful advent book Come Thou Long Expected Jesus written by a number of great men, that we read through the month longing and looking forward to the day. It is a book we would highly recommend and know we will cherish for years to come.

With Ryan having his knee surgery a week prior we've kept things pretty low key....and loved it. Christmas morning we spent together starting with advent reading and prayer. Opened the gifts for eachother and breakfast. We spent lunch with our friends Doug and Natalie Hankins and their friend Micah. Natalie made a great roast and i made a casserole and great desserts. After the feast we met up with our other friends the Preussler's for a movie. We are so very thankful for our friends here.

Christmas eve the Stanghelle's long expected son Luke arrived!! After a long pregnancy and a really long labor, he's finally here. Today we are cleaning up and preparing for Ryan's mom and brother to come to town! We're very excited to have them and are down to counting the hours and minutes!!

It really is the most wonderful time of the year. Now we're anticipating flying home in January to see our families in WA!
