I want to feel the gospel please
blow mercies new and spirit breeze
Oh that I would look to Christ
Content to stand in any strife
forgive my sin and lift my face
i want to sing of saving grace
I hate my flesh, I want to burn
My heart is numb, I long, I yearn
To know him more and live to tell
The worth of Christ unparralleled
I want to cry and feel and shake
Thousands perish, so much at stake
Strengthen your church, Lord give her zeal
Bind all the broken and wounded heal,
Exalt the glories of your son,
Your servant Israel, the promised one,
Who did for me what I could not,
He raised me up from Adam's rot,
He called me brother, n' served me well,
By dying on the cross of hell,
He's raised above the earth and skies,
I am the apple in his eyes,
I will not watch him rise alone,
I’ll be with him next to his throne?
It cannot be, it isn't right
That I not perish in his sight,
But rise with him and with him be
Where he's been from eternity
White n' robed in radiant bright
Free and sovereign with pure delight
God of Gods and Lord of Lords
All history to you points forward
Till on that day when all will see
The measure of our treachery
Our mouths will stop, our knees will bend
You stooped to us in love to send
Your son, your only son, Jesus
You purposed for his blood to free us,
Redemption! Life! At what a cost!
All we called gain we now call loss!
Now we are here with heaven's hope,
Pilgrims, exiles, we strangers grope
To see you and stay close to you,
Called to believe all's been made new
To guard with care what's been entrusted,
The great kerygma unadjusted,
Too great a task for us to bear
Without your kind, unending care,
Help me Lord now with grit to fight,
This world is vain, empty and trite,
But you are full, and good, and real
Your promise to my soul appeal
Win us, wake us to your love,
steadfast, covenantal keeping love!
It never ends, it will not fade
It raises us up from the grave!
